The Quiet Man Irish Pub opened its doors to the public in 1998 and has since established itself as one of Melbourne's favourite hospitality venues. Winner of numerous Australian Hotel Association Awards (pubs are mainly called hotels in Australia.) and local Hospitality Business Awards the pub is often described as ' A Little Piece Of Ireland in Australia'.

The pub was designed & built in Ireland by GGD Global Ltd, 83 Amiens Street, Dublin and then assembled in Melbourne. The Quiet Man Irish Pub is located in historic Flemington a short trot, canter or if you're desperate a gallop from Flemington Racecourse, the home of the famous Melbourne Cup. This horse race is renowned 'as the race that stops a Nation'. The race is run on the first Tuesday in November.

The Quiet Man is famous in Melbourne and beyond for its genuine Irish Food, Music and Ambience. The pub captures the essence of friendly Irish hospitality so typical of those pubs 'back home' on which it is based.

While the Quiet Man's name has links to the 1952 film starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara, it is more reflective of the quintessential Quiet Man as depicted in Maurice Walsh's ' The Quiet Man' .. 'he was a quiet man not given to talking about himself and the things he had done - he would laugh and have another small one from the stone jar; he was content'.

The beauty of the Quiet Man Irish Pub is you can be 18 years of age or 80 years of age and there is something there for you. There are many choices, you can sit in our dedicated alcoves, mix in with fellow customers, join in the dancing or simple remain in our restaurant area and listen to the music from a far while you converse with your friends.

Dining at The Quiet Man Irish Pub and Restaurant is an experience in itself. The restaurant area, which has a cosy log fire blazing away during the colder months, has a charm and ambience of its own. There are several eating options including a full a la carte menu. This menu includes a great selection of traditional Irish foods. There is plenty of choice with options of stew, fish, poultry, a variety of steak dishes and a vegetarian section.

The exquisitely appointed separate dining area allows for small and large tables in a friendly, cosy non-smoking atmosphere. For private functions or very hot days, the Beer Garden is an ideal alternative.
