The Rainbow Hotel |
Located in the back streets of Fitzroy for over 140 years, about 50 metres from the thriving hub that is Brunswick Street, this hidden beauty stands tall and proud as one of Melbourne's oldest and friendliest pubs.
Open 7 days with 8 beers and a cider on tap, over 100 beers in the fridge, a fine selection of wines, and a wide range of spirits. Bands play from Thursday to Sunday.
Built in 1872 named the St David Inn, legend has it that the pub was renamed the Rainbow after a gold miner bought it at the turn of the century with the proceeds of a lucky strike on the gold fields. Its long association with live music started in the 1930's with a steady stream of musicians frequenting the pub ever since.
Now open 7 days a week, the King brothers have introduced a new twist to a classic venue, with over 100 beers from here and around the world available. Come on in to sample our fine selection of beers, try the wonderful cooking of our chef Tuomas, enjoy the fantastic live bands we have playing, or just bring a bunch of mates for a beer and a game of pool in our massive beer garden.
