When the sun goes goes down, The 'Lark (as it is affectionately nicknamed) transforms into something completely different, a sultry, intimate music venue and restaurant quickly developing a reputation as 'the' venue for musicians wanting to play to a 'listening' audience. Invoking notions of a back alley jazz bar during the prohibition age, and its powerful combination of dawn and dusk offerings, The Skylark Room shows no signs of slowing down."
LOCATION
The Skylark Room is located in Upwey, approximately 50 minutes drive from Melbourne City via Burwood Highway.
The venue is part of Burrinja Cultural Centre, which provides ample car parking situated off Matson Drive. Visitors to The Skylark Room are encouraged to consider our neighbours when parking and leaving.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Catch a Belgrave line train, and get off at Tecoma station. Cross the railway bridge, take the first right down Clifford Grove and turn left into Glenfern Road. The Skylark Room is on the right of the road on the corner of Matson Drive. This is about a 20 minute walk.
US Bus Lines operate Route 699 from Belgrave to Upwey. The timetable is limited and runs throughout the day Monday to Friday, and Saturday mornings. Please note that buses do not operate in the evenings. Click here for a link to the timetable: https://ptv.vic.gov.au/timetables/line/2464
