When night falls, head over to the Murray River and admire the stunning lights in this dreamy installation. Alongside the 'fireflies', you can also expect 502 'pods' and projectors, and 126 solar units. Stroll along the reflective walking track, and feel art and nature come alive.
"Lock Island is very much a sanctuary as the limited access onto the island via two lock gates provides added protection for flora and fauna," said Munro. "There is no doubt that life is getting busier and the primary purpose of this installation is to create a peaceful and contemplative atmosphere within a natural setting."
The Trail of Lights in Mildura is expected to open in April next year, just in time for the Easter school holidays.
