Always an exciting week in Melbourne when there is a public holiday in it and this week we have Australia Day on Sunday and a public holiday on Monday.
A fabulous week of events albeit most are on Sunday that also includes the finals of the Australian Open Tennis being held at Melbourne Park.

Australia Day 2014 | Sunday 26 January
The Australia Day Committee brings a festive atmosphere of fun activities and free events with the theme 'Let Us Sing' to celebrate our national day. There will be something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day - with family, with friends or with all the other Australia Day event goers.
We have a huge wrap up of events (60+) on Australia Day which can be seen here but we want to highlight the following..
Australia Day @ Sidney Myer Music Bowl
The Sidney Myer Music Bowl features two fabulous shows - Landscapes of Australia from 2.30pm - 5pm, and the Australian Music Prize finalists from 6pm - 8pm.
The Governor of Victoria throws opens the doors to Government House and invites all citizens of Victoria and visitors to the State to visit one of Australia's finest buildings on Australia Day.
Finish off Australia Day with a bang at the fireworks display at Docklands.
Prior to the fireworks there will be entertainment along NewQuay Promenade, the Docklands Market and a celebration of the 'Great Aussie Backyard'. Enjoy a variety of Aussie cuisine from the Docklands restaurants and celebrate the end of Australia Day with a special fireworks display along side great Aussie music.
The 39th annual Fryerstown Antique Fair is held at Burke and Wills Hall, Fryerstown. Of all the antique fairs held across Australia, this one is an absolute 'must' for dealers, stall holders, collectors and browsers.
At Geelong Showgrounds visitors will be able to check out hundreds of the very latest caravan and camping designs and accessories for the great outdoors.
Held over the Australia Day Long Weekend, the Festival of Sails is historically linked to a sailing regatta plus much more, as the Geelong Waterfront comes alive with aCommunity Festival for all the family to enjoy.

See the two winning films at The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. The annual competition supports and encourages the careers of young filmmakers from India and Australia and fosters industry ties between the two countries.
