MICE2022: Melbourne International Coffee Expo
MICE returns with the World Coffee Championships in September 2022 .
The coffee world will once again descend on Melbourne this September, when the World Barista Championship and World Brewers Cup return to MICE from 27-30 September.
We thank all of our Sponsors, Exhibitors and Partners that have continued to support MICE over the past two years and look forward to welcoming the coffee industry together post-COVID.
MICE is known throughout the Asia Pacific as the largest and most exciting dedicated coffee event. Established in 2012, it has become a must-attend event for everyone in the coffee community.
Regularly attracting over 11,000 attendees, MICE connects caf© owners, roasters, equipment manufacturers, service suppliers and more to facilitate real business opportunities. The expo provides a wealth of networking opportunities alongside Melbourne Coffee Week - the best week of the year!
MICE2022 will be worth the wait.
MICE runs daily from 27-30 September 2022, 10am until 5pm* - Please note that the coffee competitions will start earlier and may run later than the official show hours, and attendees will be permitted to access the competition areas outside of official hours to watch any early competitors.
* My son is a barista (Melbourne). When asked about MICE, he responded (saltily).. pfft.. how many barista's can afford to take a day off work to go to an expo? How many coffee shop owners could take the day off? We're way too busy anyway. MICE does it every year.. run during business hours.
MICE launched in 2012 with the purpose to connect buyers and sellers, and bring industry members together in a dedicated space. From the beginning, MICE was created as Australia's first and only coffee-dedicated trade show; a time for the coffee industry in Australia to come together in one place, at one time.

The Best Barista in the World Is a Melburnian
Anthony Douglas - of popular Melbourne coffee roaster Axil - took out the top spot at the World Barista Championship. He's the first Aussie to win in seven years, beating out 47 competitors from across the globe.
If you're the kind of person who has a sacred bond with your favourite barista at your favourite cafe, you might go as far as to think they're world-class at what they do.
But now a Melburnian has officially taken out the title of the best barista in the world.
Anthony Douglas - of Axil Coffee Roasters - won the World Barista Championship at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo, which was held from September 27 to 30.
He's the first Australian to take out the top prize in seven years, going head-to-head with 47 world-class competitors from across the globe.
"I feel incredibly proud to be named this year's world champion and am honoured to represent Australia, and more specifically Melbourne, on the world stage," Douglas said in a statement.
"I couldn't have done it without the unwavering support and commitment of the team at Axil, who have been by my side inspiring me for the past nine years."
Over three rounds, Douglas produced four espressos, four milk drinks and four original signature drinks for an international panel of judges, whose criteria includes taste, technicality and presentation. Coffee from El Diviso in Colombia was used throughout.
Among Melbourne's best coffee roasters, Axil has more than a dozen cafes across city, spanning from the CBD to the airport to Chadstone Shopping Centre.
