Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science

Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science

Founded in 1888, ANZAAS serves to promote dialogue and understanding between the public, the scientific community and government and to advance science and its use for the benefit of humanity.

ANZAAS aims to:
(1) promote communication and interaction between scientists in different disciplines;
(2) foster public interest in - and awareness of - science and technology; and
(3) encourage the curiosity of children about the natural and man-made world in which they live.

ANZAAS runs public events throughout the year, including free science talks in the Melbourne CBD.
