The Avenue Neighbourhood House is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer committee and the house is managed on a day to day basis by part time staff. We offer many opportunities for people to connect with their community by participation in classes, courses, information sessions, and workshops.
Childcare
We offer three types of Child Care. You may leave your child in our care for upto 5 hours per day with a maximum of 15 hours in any week. All fees to be paid in advance. Our Child Care Centre is registered with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
1. Childcare while in classes

Affordable child care is available to people attending most day classes. There are limited spaces so it is essential to enrol children when you enrol for your class.
2. Occasional child care

Bookings are essential. Cancellations must be notified. All fees paid in advance will receive a discount. Concessions available for occasional care only to concession card holders - proof required.
3. Pre-kinder group for 3&4 yr olds
Child early learning and child care in Blackburn South
We are pleased to offer a three and four year group on a Monday. This session is for five hours only and includes a weekly music workshop.
Eley on the Park Cafe
Operates every Friday during school terms
10:30 am - 1:30 pm
Eley on the Park Cafe is a partnership between The Avenue Neighbourhood House and EACH (Eastern Access Community Health) and is currently funded by ACFE (Adult and Community Further Education).
The Cafe provides the opportunity for people with an acquired brain injury to gain basic hospitality skills including food preparation and front of house service. Eley on the Park Cafe provides a pathway for the participants to further study, volunteer or paid work.
Fare includes items such as toasted sandwiches, light hot meals, cakes, biscuits and of course coffee and tea.
