Batman's Pigeon Loft |
The Pigeon Loft at Batman Park was built by Melbourne City Council to encourage the cities pigeons to roost away from popular tourist areas.
As a humane measure to curb their breeding, the pigeons eggs are removed from the roost and replace with plastic dummy eggs.
Batman Park is a small open grassed space with paths and planted Eucalyptus trees bordered by Spencer Street at the west, Flinders Street Viaduct at the north and King Street to the east.
Melbourne City Council removed the $70,000 pigeon loft in 2016 and turned into scrap metal.
