Taking this bold idea from a few, and mixing it up with interpretation of many, Boxwars is an enduring testament to imagination & resourcefulness.
The original Boxwars started right here in Melbourne and now has a worldwide following, including official chapters in places such as Scotland and Canada!
Creators of Boxwars
It all started when Drunk Mark and Drunk Ross began hitting each other with foam pool noodles. This simple concept proved to be more fun then anyone could have possibly imagined. Immediately after the fight, in the euphoria of testosterone, they imagined an event in which many Drunkards clashed in bitter conflict, all armed with pool noodles.
Months later, with the pool noodles long forgotten, three friends (Luke, Ross and Mark), where traveling through a park in which they witnessed two children innocently beating each other up with a couple of tall thin boxes. The opportunity was to tempting to resist, soon we where in heated battle, passing attacks like crazy people. Once again the euphoria struck in post battle. They imagined creating great suits of box amour, and developing masterful box weapons to penetrate it.
Hoss and Josh blasted in to the creation process, and all developed what became Boxwars 1 : The Beginning. Hoss was very enthusiastic as he had previous box experience, making four suits for public display for his own amusement since 2000. If you've seen a walking box try to greet you, chances are, it's probably Hoss. A true Box warrior from birth. Josh felt "the Urge"early on, from his humble beginnings building forts in his living room. These forts consisted of every mattress, blanket and couch he could lift, as well as an armory of weapons to drive back the most persistent of invaders including warlords, dictators, and occasionally his mum.
From that day forth, the participating five (Ross, Luke, Josh, Hoss & Mark), became known as the Boxwars Council. And the Boxwars legacy became the hot topic of all historians the world over. But as we all know, this.....was only the beginning.....
And here they are, THE pioneers of Boxwars
