Commercial Radio Australia Ltd is the national industry body representing Australia's commercial radio broadcasters.
While radio listeners have been able to tune their dial to some of these since 1925, Commercial Radio Australia Ltd was established in 1930 as the Federation of Australian Radio Broadcasters (FARB). FARB became an incorporated company in 1993 and changed its name to Commercial Radio Australia Limited in 2002. FARB was founded with 33 members. Today Commercial Radio Australia Ltd has more than 251 members, representing 98% of commercial stations on air.
Commercial Radio Australia pursues a range of issues on behalf of its member stations. The staff of Commercial Radio Australia specialise in areas such as industrial relations, marketing, compliance and commercial advisory. They also have an overall knowledge of members' needs.

THE AUSTRALIAN BROADCASTING AUTHORITY
This is the independent federal statutory authority responsible for the regulation of broadcast planning, licencing, programming and ownership in Australia.
ADVERTISING FEDERATION OF AUSTRALIA
Represents companies in advertising and marketing communications.
THE MEDIA FEDERATION
The Media Federation was formed in 1997 when the business of Advertising Media was unbundled from "advertising agency"to provide more flexible and specialized Media services to advertising clients throughout Australia.
AUSTRALIAN ASSOCIATION OF NATIONAL ADVERTISERS
Represents the advertising community on matters of significance with the primary objective to safeguard advertisers rights to "freedom of commercial communication".
THE AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY
The Autority is responsible for regulating telecommunications and radio communications, including promoting industry self regulation and managing the radio frequency spectrum. The Authority also has significant consumer protection responsibilities.
PHONOGRAPHIC PERFORMANCE COMPANY OF AUSTRALIA
The PPCA is a national, non-government, non-profit organisation representing record companies and recording artists. Anyone playing recorded music (CDs, tapes, records) or music videos in public needs a licence. The Company grants licences to radio and TV stations, clubs, hotels, restaurants, fitness centres, shops, halls and dance instructors.
AUSTRALASIAN PERFORMING RIGHT ASSOCIATION
The Association was the first copyright collection agency set up in Australia. It has about 28,500 composer lyricist and music publisher members. As part of a world-wide network of similar organisations the Association also provides local representation for about one million artists.
AUSTRALIAN COMPETITION & CONSUMER COMMISSION
The ACCC, formerly the Trade Practices Commission, is essentially an enforcement Agency set up as a statutory body to ensure compliance with the Trade Practices Act. The ACCC is committed to active enforcement of the competition and consumer protection provisions of the Trade Practices Act.
AUSTRALIAN RETIREMENT FUND
The ARF is one of the largest superannuation funds in Australia and the fund for staff in the commercial radio industry.
AUSTRALIAN SELF MEDICATION INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION
The Association is responsible for approving all consumer advertisements broadcast for medicines, under a delegation from the secretary of the Department of Health & Family Services.
THERAPEUTIC GOODS ADVERTISING CODE COUNCIL
The TGACCs key responsibilities are to ensure that the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code is current, relevant and reflects community values and standards.
