The Feed Victoria Appeal builds on the former Feed Melbourne Appeal's mission to increase the capacity of suburban and regional food relief charities and help them nourish their communities.
Feed Victoria Appeal grants will continue to buy things such as fridges freezers vans ovens cool rooms storage kitchen equipment and staple foods to help charities grow their current programs start new projects and expand their reach in providing food and meals for people going hungry in their community.
Feed Appeal
The Feed Appeal (formally Feed Melbourne Appeal) was launched in 2009, co-founded by Leader Community News and FareShare.
It grew out of a Maroondah Leader campaign in 2008 to raise money for a Croydon food relief charity, and enable it to expand its free lunch program. FareShare and Leader observed that many food charities throughout Melbourne could not keep up with demand because they did not have the facilities and equipment to take on and store more food.
The Feed Appeal supports local community charities that deliver food relief programs for people who are hungry in the community. The Feed Appeal allocates cash grants to these charities, for infrastructure and food staples, to help them meet the growing demand and deliver impactful programs in the community.

Hunger is a community issue that needs a community solution. By working together, we can help change this story and save vulnerable Australians from going hungry. We're here to help those struggling to afford a meal. To ensure the supply of nutritious food to nourish those who need it most.
Feed Appeal is a not-for-profit that fundraises through annual campaigns. All money raised goes to community food relief charities to supply ovens, freezers, cool rooms, transport and other vital infrastructure to help them store, cook and share meals to meet the growing demand for food relief.
We won't stop until no one in Australia goes hungry.
Raise
We raise funds, awareness and capacity to provide hope for people going hungry.
Share
We share funds with those already helping in the community so they can have more impact and help break the cycle of hunger. We share their stories of hope.
Nourish
We nourish local communities by helping to transform lives. We bring everyone together to be a part of the solution.
