Frankston Fire Festival

A fiery new winter event is coming to Frankston Waterfront, with the highly anticipated Frankston Fire Festival lighting up the foreshore on Saturday 13 June.

From 4-8.30pm, the free event will transform the waterfront into a spectacular celebration of fire, food and fun - inviting locals and visitors to rug up, head out and experience the magic of the city after dark.

Festivalgoers can expect to gather around fire pits, enjoy live music and entertainment, and indulge in culinary delights and beverages as part of this vibrant winter experience. And as the sun sets, the festival will reach a fiery crescendo with the lighting of a monumental fire sculpture, created by Pyromancer and Co.

The live music program will deliver a rich blend of blues, soul and folk, headlined by ARIA Award-winning band Collard Greens and Gravy, alongside CJ Commerford & The Supertones, Jesse Valach & The Testaments and Hand Over Hammer.

Fire and ice will also collide in a striking sensory spectacle, with roving fire performers and live ice sculpting by internationally renowned artist Kevin Kapusi-Starow.

For those looking to fully embrace the winter experience, State of Nirvana saunas will offer a uniquely steamy way to warm up and unwind by the bay.

And a curated mix of food offerings from a wide range of local vendors will keep the festival buzzing, serving up flame-cooked favourites, hearty winter comfort food, fireside treats, mulled beverages and more.

Beyond the food and entertainment, visitors can explore a range of boutique market stalls featuring quality handmade products, artisan treats and locally crafted goods from a range of small businesses.

The festival is expected to attract around 4,000 visitors and support local businesses during the winter season.

Frankston City Mayor, Cr Sue Baker, said the Fire Festival would bring an exciting new experience to the city's events calendar.

"Winter is traditionally a quieter time, but the Fire Festival is about bringing Frankston City to life even during the cooler months," Cr Baker said.

"By creating experiences like this, we're giving people more reasons to get out, explore and enjoy everything our city has to offer year-round."

"It's another important step in strengthening our events calendar and reinforcing our reputation as a must-visit destination in every season."

Councillor Steffie Conroy said the festival was designed to bring people together and showcase Frankston City in a whole new light.

"There's something special about gathering around a fire - sharing food, music and moments," Cr Conroy said. "We want people to slow down, stay awhile and experience our city at its cozy, vibrant best."

The Frankston Fire Festival forms part of Council's Destination Event Attraction Program (DEAP), which delivers a year-round calendar of major events aimed at attracting visitors, supporting local businesses and showcasing Frankston City as a leading cultural and lifestyle destination.

Now in its third year, the program has featured major events including the Carlsberg Beach Club, Frankston Swim Classic and the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships. These three events delivered strong results during the 2025-2026 DEAP program, collectively attracting more than 48,337 visitors and generating an estimated $3.9 million in economic impact.

The Fire Festival is the final event in the 2025-2026 program, rounding out an incredible year of activations and reinforcing Frankston City's position as a destination for every season.
