Law Library Victoria is an innovative library service, continuously evolving to meet the needs of judicial officers and the legal profession.
The Law Library of Victoria management and administration team is located at the Supreme Court Library at 210 William St, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000.
Our friendly and experienced librarians are available to assist you with your information and research needs.
They can:
help you identify and locate information sources
suggest research strategies, search keywords, tools, and resources for your research project
instruct on the use of print material and online resources, including legal databases and the Law Library catalogue
loan items from other libraries (for judicial officers, VCAT members, and court staff only)
We provide general assistance. We are not a legal research service.
Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 6.00pm | Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm
Law Library
The library is located inside the dome at the supreme courts building.
Opened in 1884, the Library is of legal, architectural, historical and social significance and has one of the largest law collections in the State.
There are court documents dating back to the 1800's including Ned Kelly's court documents.
It's free to get into, go through security at the doors of the court.
