There's nothing like a good ole pedal on the weekend. We don the lids, pump the tubes, fill the bottles and hit the trails... The Melbourne, Australia bike path network. Heres' a few of our guides to trails we've travelled around Melbourne..
All of our rides originate at our house, in North Carlton, next to Princes Park, just north of the Melbourne General Cemetary. But you can easily modify the rides we have been on to suit where you are coming from.. see the map of public transport. Remember you can't take a bike on trams, and a bike costs a childs fare on trains during peak times, but is free at other times. Often a nice option after a hard days ride is to catch the train home!
Some general tips, the current temperatures, the forecast, maps, public transport (inc. train map), where to eat along the way, the Bicycling Federation of Australia, the Bicycle Victoria Home Page aus.bicycles newsgroup, all the VICROADS bike/bikepath information and a whole load of other biking links in Australia..
