We're pleased to announce that the Melbourne Greeter Service has resumed in October 2022 after two years, offering free orientations of the city.

These orientations are also available in French, German, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Mandarin and Vietnamese.

The Melbourne Greeter Service is a free two to four hour walking orientation of the city for visitors to Melbourne. Greeters are passionate, trained volunteers who share their local knowledge of Melbourne.

Groups of up to four people can be accommodated and bookings are essential.

Orientation Tours are available in English, Dutch, French, German, Greek and Swedish. View the full list of languages and availability
7 days a week (excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day) and depart once daily.

To explore the delights of our great city on foot, book in for one of the daily 10am orientations that start at the Melbourne Visitor Hub at Town Hall.

Bookings are essential.

Bookings are required with at least 24 hours notice.

Calls and online booking requests received after hours or on the weekend will be responded to and confirmed on the next business day. Bookings will only be accepted a maximum of 4 weeks prior to the requested orientation date.

Cancellations or alterations to your booking

As this is a volunteer service, we ask that you call the above numbers if you need to cancel or amend your booking with as much notice as possible.

Please note, the Melbourne Greeter Service is not a professional tour. Melbourne does have many fantastic professional tours.
