The Melbourne Mustangs have come a long way since their humble beginnings at the start of 2010. After 2 years of learning and development, 2013 is going to be a huge year for the Mustangs. With new coaches, new players, new structure, new direction, new logo, new jersey and a new Board, this year is an exciting one to be part of.
Fresh ideas with a strong core of players from previous seasons, all a year older and a year wiser, have seen vast improvements through pre-season training and the team can't wait to get out on the ice. Moving over from Melbourne Ice, new head coach Brad Vigon is extremely excited by the opportunity to work with this team. He, and his assistance coach Mark 'Chuck' Connolly, have been working tirelessly planning for us to bring the attack to both our cross town rivals and all other teams in the league.
The chosen team will be a combination of the local heroes we know and love who are combining with some elite imports. We can promise you exciting action on the ice this season.
To our fans and sponsors - the 2012 season was a steep learning curve for the club after the honeymoon of the first season in the AIHL. You've stayed true and we thank you for your support.
We want to see more fans in the stands this season and invite you to come down and see what we are all about in 2013. Bring your friends and wear your Mustangs gear proudly.
