The Melbourne Sinfonia

The Melbourne Sinfonia was formed in 1990 and since then has presented regular concerts performing music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern repertoire.

Over the course of those 25 years The Melbourne Sinfonia has featured many established local artists and talented students.

The current Music Director is Joannes Roose who has been with the orchestra since 1994. The Melbourne Sinfonia is an Auxiliary of the Royal Children's Hospital - the first hospital in Victoria to have a resident orchestra.

Profits made from our concerts are donated to the RCH to aid the Gatehouse.
