Melburnians love festivals and there are four great ones this weekend. The Midsumma festival lasts for three weeks as it includes; films, sport, a parade, parties and many other community events. Frankston, Williamstown and Geelong also have festivals for the family. The picture on the right is by Howard Arkley who is able to make mundane suburbia interesting. His exhibition at NGV, Federation Square is an inspiration to all who visit.
There are some great movies showing in Melbourne this week. Charlotte's Web is well worth seeing and was made in Melbourne. Happy Feet is the most popular film with its great animation, catchy tunes and broad appeal. Dreamgirls starring Beyonce starts Thursday.
Many people in Melbourne will be watching the tennis this week, but don't forget the cricket on Tuesday.

Arts & Theatre - Cabaret, Circus, Comedy and Theatre!
Barry Humphries show 'Back with a Vengeance' is very popular as he is back to his satirical best. David Williamson's play, 'Don's Party' also makes a welcome return as it is still as relevant today as it was in the 70's. Charlie Pickering is an award winning comedian, who will be performing at the Comedy Club. He is edgy, polished and inventive, possibly the most exciting new name in Australian comedy.
Tenacious D - Jack Black and his brother, are well know because of their single Tribute (remember the battle with the devil), and their movie 'Pick of Destiny'.
Markets - Arts & Craft, Fairs, Fete's, Produce and Garage Sales
There are many great markets in Melbourne for art, computers, technology, baby stuff, food and clothes where you are sure to find a bargain. The Suzuki Night Market has a great atmosphere due to the musicians, the aromas from the many food vendors and the eclectic range of stall holders.
