Get into Art! is an open day event, held on Sunday, with 40 public galleries across Victoria throwing open their doors in this annual celebration of art. Organised by the Public Galleries Association of Victoria and aided by major funding from Arts Victoria, the special day highlights Victoria's rich cultural heritage with galleries across the state offering a range of programs to interest a wide cross section of people.
The World's Greatest Pram Stroll takes place this Sunday with a world record attempt for the most people 'strolling' in one country on the one day! The annual free event is held to raise awareness abour issues of social isolation for new mums and also highlight Australia's fantastic parks. With Strolls taking place nationally, meeting venues on Sunday include Albert Park, Frankston and Whittlesea.
Children's Week, continues till Sunday, celebrating children, their rights and their skills and abilities. This year, Children and their families can celebrate the Week by getting involved in activities and events across Victoria including Playscapes this Saturday at ArtPlay, Birrarung Marr, and children's art work, which will be displayed on the City Circle Tram. There will also be a Community Safety Day at Docklands on Sunday.
Fed Square's 5th Birthday - Federation Square celebrates its Fifth Birthday in 2007 with a range of celebrations taking place throughout October, including live entertainment, exhibitions, a competition and more! Celebrate Melbourne's favourite meeting point, which has become the community heart of Melbourne in the past five years with over 37 million visits since opening and 1,500 events every year!

The Kool Skools 2007 Showcase, held this Saturday at the Melbourne Convention Centre, is an exciting Recording and Multimedia Project for youth aged between secondary school up to 19 years of age, featuring 25 live acts from Kool Skools' rising stars!
Masks of China - Exclusive to the Immigration Museum, this exhibition features handmade masks of wood, paper, copper, bronze and fabric. Including masks which are over 200 years old, the exhibition explores the significance of masks in Chinese culture.
National 4x4 Show, Fishing Show & Outdoors Expo
Beginning this Thursday, at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, two huge expos will come together, offering an enormous range of must-see displays for Melbourne's 4x4, camping, boating and fishing enthusiasts!
History Begins at Home is the current exhibition on show at the Royal Historic Society of Victoria. Illustrating the history of the area around the Society's building in A'Beckett Street, the exhibition is drawn from the Society's rich collection of maps, photos and drawings.
Artefact is an exhibition in which thirteen contemporary artists have woven small-scale works through historical artefacts, putting a new twist on the traditional forms of display at City Museum's Making Melbourne Galleries.
Orchestra Victoria Rocks Queen is a well fitting tribute to Queen. Featuring a 52 piece orchestra and the 'We Will Rock You' band members, which were hand picked by Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor, they perform this Wednesday and Thursday only.
The Journey Girl, beginning Wednesday at Forty Five Downstairs, is a charming one-woman musical comedy, featuring Emma Caldwell in the leading role of Annie, an adventurous young woman attempting to conquer the world with nothing more than a backpack and map.
Glow, presented by Chunky Move, is an intimate interactive solo performance in which the motion of the human body is used to trigger and control music, lighting and animation. Performances begin October 12 at Southbank's Chunky Move Studios.

Spring Racing Carnival
Victoria's Spring Racing Carnival showcases 50 days of premier world-class thoroughbred racing and a party atmosphere unmatched at any other Australian sporting event!
