Newsletter | #247 | What's On this Week |
Welcome to this week's Melbourne events, exhibitions, sports and community guide for Tuesday to Monday, September 27 to October 3.
This week... the Melbourne Fringe continues with it its multitude of performances that turn many a venue into a nether-realm of artistic license that would challenge even the most dedicated SBS viewer.
Those looking for more quieter pursuits, or simply looking to ditch the kids during the usual hullabaloo of school holidays, might be tempted to don a grey wig and cardigan to attend the Victorian Seniors Festival. I make that bold generalisation very lightly, by the way.. I'm well aware of many seniors who could easily outrun me should push come to shove.
There's also much ado about that football caper that Victorians seem so fond of, with the Magpies taking on the Cats. Speaking of which, I made mention last week of being assaulted by one of those cranky birds. I'd sincerely like to thank whoever it was that saw fit to plaster a sign upon a tree with the large writing of 'Please Note'.
I did exactly that and wandered close enough to read the tiny fine print that detailed the dangers of standing beneath said tree as it was a gathering place for vicious magpies.
Cheers for that.
