Newsletter | #253 | What's On this Week |
Welcome to this week's Melbourne events, exhibitions, sports and community guide for Tuesday to Monday, November 8 to 14.
This week... There's an abundance of shindigs to attend with many events sheepishly making a return after a hiatus due to the woeful weather last year. If the weather continues to play nice this time around, you can run the whole gamut of festivals with film, music and food on offer.
I could go into greater detail about this, that and the other but to be honest I wouldn't know where to begin. It doesn't help either that it's been one of 'those weekends' and I've lost half my brain cells in trying to make sense of that curious breed known as a teenager.
I swear, it used to be so much easier until some clod fed him after midnight and let him get close to water.

Trivia & Humour
Now I Know My Building, Lake, Roads...
The world's very first Google Earth Alphabet was put together by Melbourne Graphic Designer and Creative Director, Rhett Dashwood, whose short films have screened in festivals and at Federation Square. Using only images of landmarks and buildings found in Victoria, Rhett spent months scouring Google's Satellite Maps to source identifiable renditions of all 26 letters of the alphabet.
Having set himself what must have already been a hard task, Rhett's achievement is all the more remarkable for the restrictions he put upon himself, deciding to only use images that required no rotation or manipulation whatsoever.
His Geographical Alphabet has since gathered attention the world over with people in other countries, including the United Kingdom, Netherlands and the US, setting out to find their own local A, B, C's.
