It would have to rate as the worst experience in our history to discover on the morning of Tuesday 24th November 2009 that our web site had been hijacked.
We had noticed traffic number fluctuations on a daily basis for roughly 5 days but this does happen from time to time so we had not been too concerned.
Alarm bells started ringing yesterday when the visitors to the site had dropped to a third of what they were for the previous Monday.
First test was to see where we were ranking on Google for our top search terms and the results were alarming. Almost 'every' search term delivered a result at another web site:

prsitecheck.com have used some sort of cloaking device, possibly a 302 redirect to drain our web site of its PageRank and force Google to index their content instead of ours.
Even a search for our own domain [onlymelbourne.com.au] ranks prsitecheck at Position one ahead of our first result which was not even our home page.
On Monday at 6pm our home page PageRank was PR6, today our PageRank is PR0.
