Over 50s Association (ARPA ) is an independent, national non-profit organisation for seniors, built on the strengths of two groups: Australian Retired Persons Association (ARPA), established in most states in the '70s; and Over Fifties Focus, which began in 1995.
WHAT WE DO
AIM TO help people over 50 achieve a fulfilling life, enhance their quality of life and promote their dignity, rights and status.
INFORM AND ADVISE on finance, jobs, health and fitness, travel, lifestyle and personal development.
DEVELOP policies on behalf of the over 50s, monitor changes in legislation and public attitudes affecting seniors.
SPEAK FOR our members on issues concerning quality of life, such as retirement incomes policy, health, jobs for seniors, social security, tax and personal safety.
PROVIDE a quarterly members' magazine, buying advisory helpline, and mature jobseekers' service.
SOCIAL AND CULTURAL activities by the various state divisions and branches.
