A modern peruvian grill, cevicheria and pisco bar taking you on exciting journey of discovery through the coast, andes and the jungle of peru's beautiful food and culture.
Pastuso, takes its name from Paddington Bear who was originally an orphan bear from Lima before he was sent to England. Parts of the story resonated with the journey of our ideas and inspiration from Lima coming to the western world and how it adapts and is received. We also found synergy with the motto from the tag that his Aunty put on his wrist before sending him off with the message 'please look after this bear' and this has been adapted onto our business cards as a reminder to all of us about what hospitality is truly all about, looking after the customer!
Pastuso Peruvian Grill was established in July 2014, by the owners behind Argentinian restaurant San Telmo (Dave and Micky Parker and Jason and Renee McConnell) and they have partnered up with Restaurant Manager Ben Wood and Head Chef Alejandro Saravia.About Pastuso | Peruvian Grill
Opening out on to ACDC laneway in front we have the Terrace / Pisco bar area for afternoon cocktails and beers with a standing bar and casual seating area. We have large open able windows where on a nice day you can feel truly immersed in Melbourne's laneway culture while enjoying an excellent restaurant experience.Pastuso reservations
The main dining space is made up of the Grill bar and Ceviche bar where you can watch the chefs work their magic at these open kitchens. The central dining area offers a slightly more formal dining experience, while maintaining a level of 'understated elegance'.
The Mezzanine level has a viewing platform where guests can have a perfect vantage across the whole restaurant with seating facing out over the ceviche bar. Behind this are our luscious booths for up to 8 people where comfort and ambience are second to none. Set menus are required for groups or 8 or more.
