The Pinnacle Walk & Lookout

The Pinnacle Walk & Lookout

The iconic Pinnacle walk and lookout is one of the highlights of the entire Grampians region.

Hikers are rewarded with stunning views of Halls Gap and the Grampians' many peaks.

There are a number of walking options to reach The Pinnacle, varying in distance and difficulty:

The Pinnacle from Sundial Car Park
From Sundial Car Park is easiest and the best route to use if young children are part of your walking group. The 2.1km walk up will take a little over 2 hours for the return trip allowing time for a rest at the top. It does include some water crossings and rock-hopping, so good sturdy shoes are essential.

The Pinnacle from Wonderland Car Park
From Wonderland Car Park is slightly more challenging and ascends via the impressive Grampians version of the Grand Canyon with its unique Australian rock formations. The walk continues through the Silent Street before rising up to The Pinnacle.

The Pinnacle Walk from Halls Gap
Starting at the rear of the Halls Gap Caravan Park this extended walk is 9.6km and will take around 5 hours return, it is suitable for fit and experienced walkers. Follow the well-formed track to Venus Baths. The rocky track continues to Splitters Falls then connects you to the Wonderland Car Park.

Choose from two different routes up to The Pinnacle lookout - an easy to medium walk from Sundial Carpark and a more challenging climb from Wonderland Carpark.

The Pinnacle from Sundial Carpark
The easiest route to The Pinnacle, the walk from Sundial carpark via Devil's Gap is suitable for less confident walkers or those with children. Keep an eye out for native wildlife along the way, including koalas, kangaroos and even echidnas. Wear sturdy walking shoes as you may have to hop over seasonal water crossings and a few rocks. The Pinnacle lookout offers breathtaking views of Halls Gap and the Grampians' many peaks.
