Polly Waffle

Polly Waffle

Polly Waffle is an Australian chocolate bar, a waffle wafer tube filled with marshmallow and coated in compound chocolate.

Hoadley's Chocolates made the first Polly Waffle bar in Melbourne in 1947, conceived by Mayfield B. Anthony.

During the 1970s, the advertising slogan for Polly Waffle was "mmm, crunch, aah!".

In 2009, a new recipe was released along with new packaging containing a more sugary and brittle wafer. On 23 November 2009 NestlĀ© discontinued Polly Waffle after 62 years due to poor sales.

In 2019, the Polly Waffle made a comeback after an Adelaide company acquired the brand and intellectual property from Swiss giant Nestle.

Robern Menz, the company that last year revived the Violet Crumble, will take ownership of the brand, trademark and famous recipe under an agreement with food production giant Nestle.

Polly Waffle is sometimes used by Australians as a euphemism for poo. Ever seen a Polly Waffle floating in a pool?

Grant reckons the saying was "have you ever seen a PIP (as in POOP) floating in a pool"?
