The Spina Bifida Foundation of Victoria was founded in the mid 1990s by a group of parents, physiotherapists and doctors concerned about improving services for people with spina bifida, the second most common congenital disability in Australia.
Our mission is to improve the life chances of persons with spina bifida through practical projects. We actively seek, fund and co-ordinate projects that are then made available to the 1,400 individuals (and their families) in the Victorian community who have spina bifida.
FOLATE AWARENESS BREAKFAST
The Spina Bifida Foundation of Victoria holds an annual Folate Awareness Breakfast in September to raise awareness of the importance of taking folate, especially for women of child bearing age.
Funds raised from the breakfast will support a fitness program for adults with spina bifida.
