Springvale South 3172

Springvale South, between Springvale and Keysborough, was subdivided for housing during the early postwar grid pattern of Springvale and the later pattern found throughout Keysborough which protects residential streets from through traffic.

It contains the Springvale Plaza drive-in shopping centre and five other small shopping areas. There are three State primary schools and two secondary colleges. Outdoor recreation is provided by the Springvalley BMX Track and several neighbourhood reserves, two of which are planted with indigenous or remnant flora.

In 1933 Springvale South had a census population of 181 and in 1947, 628.
