The Pundit |
We spread our message on paper from Altona to Alphington, letting people know what's what for festivals such as Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival.. and more.
Our independent media publications The Pundit and The Pun contain reviews, interviews and articles by emerging writers.
Who are A New Leaf Media?
Lefa Singleton edited university magazine Rabelais for over two years and is the director of the National Student and Emerging Media Conference. In her 'spare' time, Lefa is a contributor to The Big Issue, freelance writer and editor. During previous Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, she has been a reviewer for Beat, managing editor for three festival editions of Rabelais, producer of shows such as Shopper, and a booker and venue manager of Tony Starr's Kitten Club.
Tim Norton is the man behind the pretty stuff. A graphic designer by trade and a web geek by nature, Tim has an incredibly useless degree in cinema and media studies and a slightly more relevant (but as yet unfinished) postgrad in graphic design. With a passion for monkeys, Back to the Future and Apple Macs, Tim brings all things technological and nerdy to the A New Leaf Media posse.
Jane Watkins likes watching other people's language, good and bad. So when she's not anewleafing, she subedits for weekly suburban newspapers. Jane has completed a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing, subedited for The Big Issue and Vibewire.net, written for youth and student media, and volunteered at writing festivals.
Paul D'Agostino is the current editor of Rabelais at La Trobe University, and with a head constantly full of ideas is a valuable member of the team.
Tim Adams is a writer, editor, entrepreneur and organiser. With a learned background in Cinema and Literature, Tim has freelanced for a variety of independent magazines, organised activities and sponsorship for A New Leaf Media and generally plied his wisdom.
A pool of talented sub-editors is ready and waiting for reviews to pour in. Our writers have been recruited through student media outlets, SYN FM, IsNot Magazine, Express Media, Vibewire.net, The Big Issue, Arts Hub and youth media.
