The Victorian Drama League

The Victorian Drama League

The Victorian Drama League was established in 1952 to support the amateur theatre world in Victoria, Australia.

The League has over 400 members comprising Theatre Companies, Play Reading Group, Schools, One-Act Play Festivals as well as many individual members. While the major proportion of its members are from Victoria it has a growing membership in all states and territories.

The Victorian Drama League (VDL) provides many services to its members, beginning with its extensive Library of plays, reference books and tapes.

The Library is open weekdays from 10.00am to 3.00pm, and is manned by staff and volunteers who are only too willing to help members.

The VDL publishes a magazine each month called Theatrecraft.

The VDL also have their own theatre bookshop called Theatrebooks, containing a variety of play scripts and theatre texts for purchase by members and the general public.
