UrCommunity is building community as well as promoting self-sufficiency, food security and access to free meals for the disadvantaged. This will also be through a range of inter related social enterprise projects aimed at ensuring greater participation, access, linkages and inclusiveness.

UrCommunity aims to reduce the financial barriers that prevent ordinary Australians from being able to achieve an appropriate standard of living. These activities will also assist to transition attitudes away from an economic transactional perspective towards a social integration perspective.

UrCommunity Initiatives Pty. Ltd. is a social enterprise which assists to underpin activities of UrCommunity Ltd. A social enterprise is an organisation which applies commercial strategies to maximise improvements in human and environmental well-being, rather than maximising profits for external shareholders.

UrCommunity Ltd is a Not-For-Profit, registered charity as a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status 1, aspiring to promote the rights of an appropriate standard of living for all Australians, regardless of gender, age or ethnicity as articulated in the UN Human Rights Declaration.

UrCommunity's Feeding Australia programs aim to Assist the 4.5 Million Australians who are living at or below the poverty line by providing them with:-
Free & Low Cost nutritious meals
Every day of the week

Healthy Food Hub Model

In order to increase the access to fresh and nutritious meals at affordable prices, we have developed a scaled-down and unique version of our UrCommunity Cafe Model. We're calling it the Healthy Food Hub (HFH).

The key differences between the Healthy Food Hubs and the cafes include:

- HFH sites will act as a kiosk distribution centre for the healthy meals, salads, soups and desserts which will be prepared off-site by Community Chef, a certified & recognised quality supplier.
- HFH's will feature low-cost, nutritious meals/soups/desserts that will only need to be re-heated, as well as salads & desserts.

The operation of this model reduces the equipment, storage and personnel costs required to run and manage these sites compared to the standard cafe model. This will allow a quicker scale-up to establish more HFH's to provide greater assistance and further opportunities to more local communities.
