Warrandyte Artists

Warrandyte Artists

With its natural beauty and stunning stretch of the Yarra river running through the township, Warrandyte built its reputation as an artist's haven over the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Artists from the Heidelberg School resided and painted in the area, and potters found communal residencies at the famous "Potters Cottage".

This significant artistic heritage continues to influence the social and cultural character of Warrandyte today, with many artists still attracted to live in and practice their arts in Warrandyte.

Many successful arts studios and galleries are still operating within Warrandyte today, and with the help of Manningham City Council, local artists have created a guide to their studios and galleries, entitled "Warrandyte Arts"which captures more than 40 artists and 20 studios operating in Warrandyte.

You are warmly invited to visit the studios and galleries of Warrandyte, and enjoy the stunning bushland and river surrounds, cafe culture and creative atmosphere this stunning township has to offer - only 30 minutes from the CBD!
