Year of the Goat
Victoria Street Lunar Festival
The first of the Lunar New Year Festivals is on in Richmond's Victoria St on Sunday 1 February 2015.
Chinese New Year's Day is on Thursday 19th February, 2015. 2015 is the year of the Goat (sometimes called the year of the Ram/Sheep)
Victoria Street Lunar Festival entertainment is diverse, with everything from Chinese opera to Vietnamese pop and carnival rides. Follow Chinese dragons as they twist and twirl their way along Victoria Street, and block your ears as strings of firecrackers noisily scare away those evil spirits.
And of course you can sample more Vietnamese hawker food than you can poke a chopstick at - they don't call Victoria Street 'Little Saigon' for nothing!
Join Yarra's Chinese and Vietnamese communities for the famous Lunar New Year Festival on Victoria Street, Richmond:
