Newsletter | #287 | What's On this Week |
Welcome to this week's Melbourne events, exhibitions, sports and community guide for Tuesday to Monday, July 3 to 9, 2012.
This week... The Australian Tap Dance Festival steps lively into Prahran, where you'll also find Roola Boola offering a festive program of activities for children during School Holidays. Also catering to the kidlets, there's the Kids Japan Festival in Vermont South, raising funds for children affected by last year's tsunami.
For the adults it's a truly mixed bag this week with the return of the Spanish Film Festival, the Bayside Literary Festival and a celebration of women and wool with the aptly named Women of Wool in Bendigo.
Also in Bendigo, there's the latest jewel in Victoria's sporting crown with the Australian Snooker Goldfields Open - a perfect remedy for hapless hubbies dreading the idea of a wool expo, or those who find wool unbearably itchy.
How the sheep manage, I'll never know.

Zone Two Was A Tram Route, Zone One Once Was Two
Given Melbourne's love of trams, one could be forgiven for thinking the first electric tram route would have originated out Melbourne's CBD but no.. it ran between Doncaster and Box Hill.
It was the first electric tram in Australia, and the southern hemisphere, to operate as a regular service and ran along a road we now know as "Tram Road".
