Even though this week starts on Melbourne Cup Day (Tuesday), by the time most readers get to read this newsletter, the race that stops the nation will have already been run, so we'll highlight events after Wednesday.

This Week has one for kids of all ages... LEGO Fan Expo at Williamstown. We have festivals for everyone.. Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival, Djerriwarrh Festival in Melton, Maroondah Festival in Croydon, Eltham Rotary Town Festival, Broadmeadows Fiesta and the Buddhist Spring Festival, not forgetting for the film buffs.. Jewish International Film Festival in Elsternwick.

Festivals


Bendigo Blues and Roots FestivalBendigo Blues and Roots Festival features free workshops and performances held at venues throughout Bendigo and surrounding towns. With a line-up of local and national bands and artists, the festival will peak with a special family-friendly concert taking place in Civic Gardens where there'll be two stages featuring 24 acts.
When: Thursday to Sunday, November 7 to 10


Djerriwarrh Festival Djerriwarrh Festival, Melton Township's annual festival to celebrate their community, offers a fun carnival atmosphere the whole family can enjoy. With events held across the Shire, attractions include a Street Parade, market stalls, a sports expo along with skateboarding competitions, live music, fireworks and more.
When: Friday to Sunday, November 8 to 10



Maroondah Festival Maroondah Festival, held at Town Park Croydon, brings local groups together to present live music, food and roving entertainers. One of Melbourne's biggest community events, it features the Kids Kingdom area, market stalls, and the newly added Cultural Corner with cooking demonstrations, lively performances and more.
When: Sunday November 10 - 10am to 5pm



Eltham Rotary Town Festival Eltham Rotary Town Festival, taking place at Alistair Knox Park and Panther Place, offers a great day of family-friendly attractions that include the popular talent competition, Eltham Idol. Along with live music performances, workshops and kids' activities, there'll also be food and wine, market stalls, rides, fireworks and more.
When: Saturday & Sunday, November 9 & 10



Broadmeadows Fiesta Broadmeadows Fiesta offers a great day for the family at Civic Plaza with free entertainment that includes a main stage with live performances, a global billy cart derby, the White Ribbon Fun Run and Walk, a wide range of market stalls, food stalls, multicultural workshops, historical displays and free activities for children.
When: Sunday November 10 - Midday to 5pm



Buddhist Spring Festival Buddhist Spring Festival, held at Yuroke's centre for the Tibetan Buddhist Society, celebrates their faith with a blessing ceremony, stunning garden tours, market stalls of Tibetan handicrafts, children's craft activities and more. With proceeds supporting the temple, this year's festival also features a Ceremony for World Peace.

FILM



Jewish International Film Festival Jewish International Film Festival, held at the Classic Cinema in Elsternwick, presents a program of over 40 critically acclaimed movies, many premiering for the time in Australia. With a major focus on Israeli cinema, the festival program will explore, share and celebrate the diversity of the Jewish experience as never before.

THEATRE



In A Forest, Dark and Deep In A Forest, Dark and Deep, presented by Winterfall Theatre Company, is the acclaimed play by Neil LaBute, America's most controversial and provocative contemporary playwright. Movember | Grow a MO for Charity!
Movember! is an annual, month-long celebration of the moustache, highlighting men's health issues, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.

Mo Bros, supported by their Mo Sistas have the month of November to grow and groom their moustache.
