This Week has races in the Spring Racing carnival and lead up to the 153rd running of the Melbourne Cup, not forgetting Thursday is Halloween (oooooo!).
It is also the start of the festival season with the Maldon Folk Festival, Melbourne Wooden Boat Festival and Wangaratta Jazz Festival all making a return in 2013.
Now I am not as artsy fartsy as Brett our regular editor, so I'm skipping art exhibitions in favour of Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond opening at Melbourne Museum. How about Domestic Goddess Exhibition and Spectacle: The Music Video Exhibition at ACMI plus we must give a shout out for Movember | Grow a MO for Charity!

4 Days at Flemington
Melbourne Cup Carnival is the linchpin of the Victoria Racing Club's annual four-day Cup Carnival and the highlight of Victoria's statewide Spring Racing Carnival.The Emirates Melbourne Cup is more than just a horse race - it's a 152 year-old social and cultural tradition that literally brings Australia to a standstill!
The race draws competitors from all over the world with the annual invasion of northern hemisphere-trained stayers making it a truly international event.
The Emirates Melbourne Cup now attracts a worldwide television audience of around 700 million people in 120 countries and territories while millions more either view or listen to the event via the internet.

- DAY 4 Saturday - Emirates Stakes Day November 9
