This week, the University of Melbourne shines a light on its already bright talents with MUDfest offering a diverse program of arts and theatre. At Melbourne Showgrounds you'll find Manifest celebrating all things Anime with cosplay, competitions and more.

And for film buffs, there's the return of the AICE Israeli Film Festival with a program of world class cinema. There's also the Coonawarra Wine Tasting Roadshow, showcasing some of Australia's best reds for those fond of a drop or two.

Taking place in Docklands, the special event is open to professionals and novice photographers alike.

Elvis Meets Pavarotti Elvis Meets Pavarotti, performed at Alfred's Homestead in Warrandyte South, is an entertaining dinner show featuring Elvis impersonator Angelo Falcone together with Pavarotti impersonator and member of the much applauded 3 Tenors Tribute show, Angelo Falcone, in a performance that blends much loved rock and roll hits with classics.

Emerging Minds on Show


MUDfest MUDfest, with its humble beginnings as a drama festival and now one of the biggest arts and culture festivals in Australia, sees the University of Melbourne plays host to a vibrant, entertaining program that showcases art exhibitions and installations, musical performances and theatre, poetry workshops and much more.
When: August 15 to 24



The Container Festival The Container Festival, presented by Monash Uni Student Theatre, is a bold new enterprise held in shipping containers set up as performance venues. Showcasing ground-breaking works, the program features music, dance, theatre, visual art, games, burlesque, interactive performances, poetry, puppetry, talks, exhibitions and more.
When: August 2 to 20



Cosplay at the Showgrounds


Manifest Manifest, the Melbourne Anime Festival, returns for another year at Melbourne Showgrounds with an exciting program of attractions for fans of anime, with something for everyone to celebrate the popular medium. The festival features cosplay competitions, trade stalls, video games, workshops, special guests and more.

Israel On Screen


AICE Israeli Film Festival AICE Israeli Film Festival brings an exciting selection of contemporary Israeli cinema to Melbourne's screens with featured films showing at Kino Cinemas, Palace Cinema Como in South Yarra and Palace Brighton Bay as part of a program that features prize winning films with many screening here for the first time.

Best of the Boffins


National Science Week National Science Week presents a series of fun, unique and quirky displays and events held at venues throughout Victoria and Melbourne. Now celebrating its 16th year, the event is held to raise awareness of education by offering the public engaging and entertaining activities about science, technology and engineering.

Monkey Business


King Kong King Kong, performed at Melbourne's Regent Theatre, is a landmark theatrical event that brings to life the iconic story of an enormous gorilla's battle for survival in New York City. With a talented cast of actors, singers, dancers and puppeteers, the musical features revamped 1930s Broadway classics and dazzling new songs.

With an impressive showcase of wines from individual Coonawarra wineries available to taste, visitors can also meet some of the winemakers and owners behind these famous labels.
