This week Victoria's favourite multicultural festival Emerge returns to Fitzroy with a grand celebration to mark Refugee Week.

The Glen Eira Storytelling Festival offers a program of workshops, performances and much more to celebrate the written word, while another iconic literary festival makes its appearance with Bloomsday in Melbourne.

The Spanish Film Festival hits the big screens with a program of fantastic cinema and special guests.

And a big week for sports fans kicks off with the clash between Australia and Jordan as the Socceroos set their sights on the World Cup.

Emerge Festival Emerge Festival, now in its 10th year, will present a free celebration held as part of Refugee Week in Victoria. Held at Fitzroy Town Hall and along Napier Street, the block party features three stages of nonstop world music, a vibrant cultural marketplace, food stalls, workshops and children's activities with storytelling and more.

Glen Eira Storytelling Festival Glen Eira Storytelling Festival, held at various venues that include the historic Rippon Lea House, celebrates the art of storytelling with a program of events that features poetry readings, performances, workshops, open mic sessions in local cafes, film screenings, children's story time sessions, artworks and more.

Winter WineFest Winter WineFest reveals Nillumbik's best wineries with a program of special dinners and entertainment. Taking place at six of the best boutique wineries, including Yarrambat Estate, Panton Hill Vineyard and Hilderbrand Ridge, the family owned wineries are just 10 minutes apart and just 35 minutes from Melbourne.

Bloomsday in Melbourne Bloomsday in Melbourne, held each year to celebrate James Joyce's novel, Ulysses, is a literary festival that aims to entertain and demystify Joyce and his work. This year, the festival program features a seminar, special dinner and performances of the play, The Seven Ages of Joyce, which examines the life of Joyce himself.
