This week there's many a stage lit up with the Melbourne Cabaret Festival presenting an enormous program of shows and events across town.

There's a Celtic double whammy with the Kilmore Celtic Festival on the weekend, along with the rugby action of our own lads taking on the Lions.

And this week we also have a Double Pass up for grabs for the screening of a new Indie Black Comedy to help keep community radio alive and raise funds for 3CR.

Melbourne Cabaret Festival Melbourne Cabaret Festival, held in venues that include the Butterfly Club, Chapel Off Chapel and Paris Cat Jazz Club, offers its biggest program yet with this year's festival featuring eight overseas shows never before seen here in Melbourne as part of a program that features 150 shows with just as many performers.

It's held at Melbourne's RMIT Gallery.

Ingmar Bergman Classic on Stage


Persona Persona, held at Southbank's Malthouse Theatre, is Adena Jacobs' astonishing re-imagining of Ingmar Bergman's iconic film. First performed to great praise from audiences and the critics alike in 2012, the thriller follows an actress who loses her power to speak and the unstable boundaries between her identity and that of her nurse.
