South Melbourne welcomes one and all with SoMo So MAV presenting a great range of free multicultural activities.
And with the chilly season underway, Federation Square offers a glimmer of warmth with the return of The Light in Winter, while in Falls Creek the brave and the bold will be diving deep into the freezing depths with the annual Ice Plunge.

The Light in Winter, an annual event that celebrates the richly diverse cultural and artistic life of Melbourne, brings to Federation Square free events with exhibitions, forums, film screenings, a Solstice Celebration and the premiere of Fed Square's largest sculptural endeavour so far, the Helix Tree by light artist Bruce Ramus. Winter Arts Festival, presented by the Canterbury Girls' Secondary College, invites the public and any 'old girls' from the school to celebrate 85 years of education and high achievement. Falls Creek Ice Plunge, an annual event at Falls Creek's Rocky Valley Lake, challenges locals and visitors to take a chilly plunge in their bikinis and board shorts at 1,600m altitude and near zero degrees temperature. After the Plunge, Falls Creek SES will be fundraising with a traditional BBQ breakfast to warm you up. When:Saturday June 1 - 10am

Williamstown Literary Festival, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, returns with a program of events that include workshops and discussions with special guests, author readings, the Children's and Youth 'Lit' Day and the presentation of the prestigious Ada Cambridge prizes for biographical prose and poetry. Best known for his work as the front man and songwriter of rock band 'Hunters & Collectors', Seymour also successfully pursued a solo career releasing a number of albums of his own, gaining fame as a nominee for two ARIA Awards. Soul Night For The Kids, held at The Felix Bar in St Kilda, is a charity benefit gig that will raise money for the Royal Children Hospital as part of the Good Friday appeal still accepting money until June.
