This Week, there's a free celebration of Korean culture at Fed Square with the KWave Festival offering entertainment for all ages.

And in a true boon for avid film buffs, also celebrating the Korean vibe, there's the Korean Film Festival, which is joined by Melbourne Underground Film Festival and the Environmental Film Festival.

For those planning a jaunt out of town, there's the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival celebrating the return of spring and the Lorne Festival of Performing Arts with a great range of events.

Movie Making Holiday Programs


Buzz Movie Makers Buzz Movie Makers will hold school holiday activities in Elwood, Northcote, Brunswick East, Hawthorn East and Kensington where kids can have fun making and exploring movies with movie and animation classes that teach all aspects of making films, allowing them to create their own masterpiece to then take home on DVD.

Lucha Libre Returns


Lucha Libre Espectacular Lucha Libre Espectacular brings the much loved Mexican Wrestling to Melbourne's Hi-Fi Bar where the venue will be transformed to celebrate Mexico's Independence Day, one of Mexico's biggest celebrations. Featuring 10 professional 'Luchadores', the wrestling action is followed by a Mexican party with live entertainment.

Free Korean Celebration


KWave Festival KWave Festival, held at Federation Square, celebrates Korean music and culture though a variety of activities and entertainment for people of all ages. With the event free to attend, highlights include coverage of the Hallyu Wave, traditional food stalls, displays, performances, special guests and much more.

Spring Flings Far & Wide


Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival is a celebration of Spring, offering fun for people of all ages with highlights that include arts and photography exhibitions, concerts, open garden days featuring awards and garden tours, the Daffodil Old Time Ball and a grand parade day with plenty of family fun at the town fair.

Lorne Festival of Performing Arts Lorne Festival of Performing Arts brings the Great Ocean Road coastal town to life as it celebrates culture by the sea. With a weekend-long program of events that include thrilling chanteuses, bawdy burlesque, cracker comedy as well as poetry, dance, music, workshops and more, there'll also be plenty for kids to enjoy.
When: Friday to Sunday, September 6 to 8



Green on the Screen


Environmental Film Festival Melbourne Environmental Film Festival Melbourne brings together filmmakers and the community to increase awareness on key environmental issues by inspiring debate through films that highlight the global changes we face. With films ranging from documentaries to narratives, the personal to the quirky, it's held at Melbourne's Kino Cinemas.
When: September 5 to 13



Melbourne Underground Film Festival Melbourne Underground Film Festival, a festival that prides itself on being far from the norm, returns for its 14th year with a program of screenings held at Revolt ArtSpace in Kensington. Celebrating uncompromising genre films, the program includes guest speakers, awards and a diverse selection of short films.
When: September 6 to 14



Korean Film Festival Korean Film Festival, returning to Federation Square's ACMI Cinemas for its 4th year, presents screenings of the latest contemporary hits that showcase the very best of Hallyuwood, the vibrant cinema emerging from South Korea, in a program that includes industry forums, gala receptions, cultural activities and much more.
When: September 5 to 11



The Best of Aretha on Stage


Aretha - Gospel and Soul Aretha - Gospel and Soul, taking place at the Thornbury Theatre, is a special presentation from Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir. Celebrating the 'Queen of Soul', Aretha Franklin, the production brings together 80 voices to channel Aretha's passion with hits that include Respect, People Get Ready and other great songs.
When: Saturday & Sunday, September 7 & 8



King Kong King Kong, performed at Melbourne's Regent Theatre, is a landmark theatrical event that brings to life the iconic story of an enormous gorilla's battle for survival in New York City. With a talented cast of actors, singers, dancers and puppeteers, the musical features revamped 1930s Broadway classics and dazzling new songs.
When: Extended to November 13



AWOL on the Wall


AWOL AWOL, one of several exhibitions held at Fitzroy's 69 Smith Street Gallery, is a series of works by Jason Nixon. Influenced by writers such as Albert Camus and Franz Kafka, and the works of Gregory Crewdson, the series follows the unravelling of a working man and his slow realisations about his life and the choices he could make.
When: September 4 to 22



Art4All Festival Art4All Festival, presented by Fairfield Primary School and now in its 16th year, is one of Melbourne's most highly-anticipated art events with works by talented local artists on display along with an Artisan Market, fantastic activities and creative workshops for children, performances and stalls offering fabulous foods.
When: Friday to Sunday, September 6 to 8
