Yarra River Fish Display |
The 72 illuminated fish on the Yarra River will perform nightly for 10 minutes every hour from 8pm to 11pm during the Commonwealth Games.
The fish will light up the Yarra River in a spectacular display and thrill crowds who are attending the Festival or events at the Games.
Animated with over 360 high-tech moving lights, and 180 sprays and plumes of water, the fish make an illuminated fountain that spans more than 800 metres down the centre of the river.
The water creatures are placed along the Yarra River between the Princes and Swan Street bridges.
Attracting thousands of Melburnians and visitors to the banks of the Yarra River every day, these water creatures are certainly the most important part of the River Event to attract local and tourist attention.
The water creatures were constructed by a team that consisted of more than 30 designers, artists and fabricators. It took a year to complete the whole project before they were installed along the river.
The fish will continue performing throughout the entire Commonwealth Games.
