Cherry Picking Season 2024
The cherry blossom season may be over but now we get to pick cherries.. yay!
Get in quick because the cherries go fast!
Cherry season starts in November and runs until mid-January every year.
If you haven't taken the family cherry picking it's a fun family activity. Eat as many as you like while you pick (included in the entry fee). Prices per kilogram vary so check them out before going.

There are entry costs and your take-home cherries are paid pre kilogram. Prices vary so check these out before deciding where to go.

The farms are located in country Victoria: Silvan (40 km east of Melbourne) Coldstream (36 km north-east from Melbourne) Wandin (40 km east from Melbourne) Bacchus Marsh (50 kilometres north west of Melbourne) and Red Hill (63 km south-east of Melbourne).

Consider the weather time of day (most open 9am - 5pm - last entry 4pm) Check to see if bookings are required. Some farms close when busy.
Cost
Fees range but typically: Entry fee (includes eating): Adult $20 Children (3-15) $10 Children under 3: free. (ball park)
Cherry cost: You pay per kilogram for the cherries you have picked (On the way out of the orchard)
Ball park: between $15-20/kg for the cherries you pick and take home.
