Muscular Dystrophy Australia's Wheels and Reels: Accessible-Friendly Fishing Series - Launching Way Patterson River
From seasoned anglers to fishing novices Muscular Dystrophy Australia's (MDA) 'Wheels and Reels' accessible-friendly monthly fishing series is back.
Co-funded by Fisheries Victoria and hosted by passionate fisherman radio host Neofitos Constantinides affectionately known as Fid who has lived experience with neuromuscular disease (NMD) the program is designed to encourage participants to connect with peers and share in their interest of fishing.
From the picturesque Kerferd Road Pier in Port Melbourne to the turquoise blue waters at Mordialloc Pier all locations are wheelchair and toilet accessible. Fishing rods bait and tea and coffee is provided.
Wheels & Reels will be held on the first Wednesday of each month (excluding January) from 10.00am - 12.00pm from September 2024 to May 2025.
The April session will be on the second Wednesday to coincide with school holidays. If the weather turns sour the event will be moved indoors to a nearby café.
