57 Mount Pleasant Street | Where? |
Two questions from the Crowded House song "Weather With You"..
1. Where is 57 Mount Pleasant Street?
2. What does "walking round the room singing stormy weather"mean?
57 Mount Pleasant Street
We could not find a Mount Pleasant Street in Melbourne although there was one Mount Pleasant Drive, one Mount Pleasant Grove and four Mount Pleasant Roads (Eltham, Nunawading, Preston and Research).
Yes, 57 Mount Pleasant Street is between 55 and 59 Mount Pleasant Street.

How about "Weather With You."Is there really a 57 Mount Pleasant Street?
There's actually lots of them. My sister used to live in Mount Pleasant Road in Auckland [map], but it wasn't number 57. The number she was at didn't sound very musical. This comment along suggests the line was based on their sisters address.
walking round the room singing stormy weather
Tim had the lines "Everywhere you go, always take the weather with you"and also "Walking round the room singing Stormy Weather"and that was the extent of it, really. We just imagined the scenario. That was a classic case of imagining a room that a thing was taking place in, and a guy with a bit of ennui, having lost somebody, you know?
walking round the room singing stormy weather may refer to the song sung by Billie Holiday - Stormy Weather.
Song: Weather With You

Weather With You | Lyrics
Walking 'round the room singing Stormy Weather
At 57 Mount Pleasant Street
Now it's the same room but everything's different
You can fight the sleep but not the dream
Things ain't cookin' in my kitchen
Strange affliction wash over me
Julius Caesar and the Roman Empire
Couldn't conquer the blue sky
There's a small boat made of china
Going nowhere on the mantlepiece
Do I lie like a loungeroom lizard
Or do I sing like a bird released
Everywhere you go you always take the weather with you
Everywhere you go you always take the weather
Everywhere you go you always take the weather with you
Everywhere you go you always take the weather,
Take the weather, the weather with you
Best lines:
You can fight the sleep but not the dream
Julius Caesar and the Roman Empire, Couldn't conquer the blue sky
RIP Paul, your beat lives on..
